Recently it was reported that the Danestream flowing through Milford was a silty brown colour. The contamination was traced back about two miles to an overflow from an adjacent field. Within the bean field a water mains burst was located which had eroded a large hole. Bournemouth Water Company were notified as were the Environment Agency. Within a couple of days the section of water mains had been isolated, the discharge stopped and gradually the Danestream returned to its normal clear condtion.
