Pleasure Ground Wildflower Walk Report

Categories

We were delighted that at last the sun had come out, the extra warmth over the previous few days had worked its magic and the wildflowers had opened! 16 of us took a leisurely stroll along the Danes Stream from New Valley Road towards the common, stopping frequently to inspect wildflowers along the way and there were even some Elfin Cups (fungi) still around to admire. Many of the flowers we saw were familiar to me but putting a name to them was a different matter, but our leaders, Wendy and Mary were well informed and shared their love of flowers with us, together with some very interesting stories.

Thank you so much Wendy and Mary for a very interesting morning.

Below are photos of some of the plants we saw and what I think they are called, not helped much by my memory, but helped by the “Seek” app. As I do not have photos of all the flowers, and my photos are of mixed quality, if anyone attending has other or better photos, please send them to me via the contact us form. I have included an elfin cup photo taken at the same location earlier this year.
