State of the art nest box cam awarded to Milford Primary School.
A special nest-box with a WiFi camera powered by a solar panel was presented to Class 5 (Year 2) of Milford-on-Sea Primary School Academy earlier this year before. The award was made by Milford Conservation Volunteers under a youth bursary included in their annual budget to enhance opportunities for local youngsters in wildlife studies.
When Year 2 got wind of the award they wasted no time in sending out a number of individually handwritten letters explaining why a nest box cam was such a good idea. This is because their class overlooks a wall suitable for locating the box. They could then monitor the birds both outside and additionally from inside the nest-box anywhere in the school.
The MCV committee had no hesitation in supporting the award especially as the school is already registered as a Green Flag Eco School.
