Butterfly talk at AGM

Categories

After the business side of the AGM was completed and the raffle drawn, we  were entertained with a talk on Butterflies of the New Forest from Jacky Adams and Nigel Owen.

Nigel has been counting butterflies on his own patch for many years and volunteers with the New Forest Butterfly transect group. He talked about some of his favourites and the butterfly transects in general.  We were delighted to see a graph of the butterfly population at Studland Common over the years which showed increasing numbers each year since it was set up in 2016.

Jacky is involved with the New Forest Butterfly transect group and HIWWT. She  continued the evening with an interesting perspective of how climate change may effect  the butterflies we see.
